    1. Thanks. Yes, I have been looking through a lot of my own photos in the last few months as I organize and scan in old photos. Can be great fun to look at them, can also be a stark reminder of the passage of time.


      1. Of course a lot depended on the skill not only of the photographer but also of the technician developing them. They seem somehow embued with so much extra character, perhaps it is that deeper manual involvement. Although I expect to an extent commercial developing was automated. But the really old photos and any processed by hand really are something else.
        That’s sort of how it felt reading your haiku, as if I could feel the photo in my hand so to speak. I could suddenly remember the smell of the chemicals used in hand-developing and processing too – I only ever did it the once at college and couldn’t cope well with the dark room so was very very impatient with my only once ever project and rushed my prints. That and the cost of materials meant I never elected to take photography again during my course, so long ago now. Sorry I’m waffling and flooding your comments 🙂 Hope you have a great weekend – I really did appreciate your haiku 🙂
